SPRING IS THE TIME FOR CAKES THAT ARE PRETTY, FUN AND DELICIOUS!

As the snow finally begins to melt and we look for longer, sunnier, warmer days it's time to think about all of the wonderful celebrations at this time of year. Easter celebrations call for something festive and fun. There will be birthdays, first communions, christenings, showers, graduations and, of course, weddings. That's where cake comes in. Cakes and cupcakes can be baked in so many flavors and filled and frosted with luscious fruit, buttercreams and fondants. Vanilla cake with raspberry filling and vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream icing is one of my springtime favorites. Decorate the cake with handmade gumpaste flowers, leaves and stems and you have a feast for the eyes and the taste buds; perfect for Easter, a birthday celebration, or bridal shower.

Cupcakes have become so popular and so gourmet! Decadent moist chocolate cakes, filled with chocolate ganache and top with whimsical toppings and you have a fun, easy to serve sweet for young and old alike.

All of the cakes that I create are made from scratch using the finest ingredients available. No mixes and no "doctored" mixes are ever used because I believe that baking itself is an art form. Your cake, cupcakes, cookies or pies should look great and taste amazing.  I can even create gluten-free cakes and cupcakes that will have ALL of your guests wanting more. Guiness for St. Patrick's Day...of course!

So you are going to throw a St Paddy's Day party....what to serve? Well, here are some sweet ideas. You'll of course have plenty of Guinness available and maybe a green beer or two. Corned beef and cabbage is certainly traditional fare, but what about dessert?

Guinness Stout cake would be an amazing addition to your menu. This rich chocolate cake is so moist and delicious that when filled with chocolate ganache and covered with appropriate fondant decor, it will truly be the centerpiece of your festivities. And yes, it is made with real Guinness stout!

Maybe a cake is a bit too much for your small gathering of the Irish. Well, in that case maybe some tasty sugar cookies will help the Irish whiskey go down.

If your plans for March 17th are under way, be sure and contact The PartyCake for your custom baked and decorated confections, as always made from scratch (no mixes) using the best ingredients available.
